Big, powerful, pricey, introduced in the midst of a recession, loaded with gadgets, some of which didn't work, delivered with missing parts, ridiculed for its "horse collar" grille, the Edsel was doomed to failure right out of the gate. In production barely more than two years which included the 1958-59-60 models, Ford pulled the plug before the end of 1959.

Today, these "lovable losers" are preserved by a loyal group of owners who revere them for their quirkiness and reputation for spectacular failure.
